Banana boat rides - a great way to
ride the gentle sea waves in the Maldives
With the number of different kinds of boats there are in the world,
there are none as unique to the Republic of Maldives as the banana
boats there. These are so called because of the shape, and are made
from coconut palm trees. Riding a banana boat has become a popular
way of getting from one island to the next, and also for tourists
to get an idea of what life was like in the old days.
These boats are quite safe for tourists to ride in, and many people
that have had an exciting time riding one have commented that they
would like to return to the Maldives again and take another banana
boat ride sometime soon.
